Competition to be judged by FP, One of World's Finest Piano Accompanists

Music SchoolThis year's Singing Competition will take place on Tuesday 27 April in the Music Auditorium at 7pm.

We are delighted that former pupil, Malcolm Martineau, has agreed to judge the competition and that he has been able to make travel arrangements to get here.

He was born in Edinburgh and after Watson’s he went on to read Music at St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge, and later studied at the Royal College of Music in London.

Recognised as one of the leading accompanists of his generation, he has worked with many of the world’s greatest singers, and has presented his own series at St. John’s Smith Square, the Wigmore Hall (broadcast by the BBC) and at the Edinburgh Festival.

He has appeared throughout Europe, North America, Australia, and at the Aix-en-Provence, Vienna, Edinburgh, Schubertiade, Munich and Salzburg Festivals.

Next week a further two musical events will take place in the Music Auditorium. The Young Musician Competition will take place on Monday 3 May and the Leavers' Concert featuring our S6 pupils will take place on Wednesday 5 May. Both these events begin at 7pm.
