Civic Reception for Pipe Band

Pipe Band play at civic receptionThe Pipes & Drums of George Watson’s College have been invited to a Civic Reception at the City Chambers by Lord Provost George Grubb, on Monday.

This is in recognition of their extremely successful season, which culminated in winning the World Championship and then being chosen to form a Guard of Honour for the First Minister of Scotland, Rt Hon Alex Salmond MSP, on St Andrew’s Day.

Gareth Edwards, Principal, stated, “Our Pipe Band continues to bring honour to the school. This recognition is well deserved and is the result of a lot of hard work and commitment on behalf of the pupils, their parents and our Pipe and Drum Majors, Iain Simpson and Michael O’Neill.”
