City Schools' Pupils Join Together for French Conference

At the first Advanced Higher French Conference held at George Watson's College last year, Mr Gareth Edwards, Principal, stated in his opening words, 'I very much hope that like-minded students get together today and enjoy speaking French. This is the first event, and I sincerely hope that it is not the last. I'm sure it will not be.' Well, he was right.

Today, 34 pupils from George Watson’s, Boroughmuir High School and St Mary’s Music School have coming together to talk about the environment, in French.

The event, at Myreside, was opened for the second year running by Robin Harper MSP, Leader of the Scottish Green Party, who also conducted a Q and A session – all in French!

On being asked back, he said he “enjoyed last year so much, I am delighted to be asked back”.
