EC CORDE CARITAS engraved in the stone at Colinton RoadI am delighted to inform you that the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) has this week announced that the Merchant Company Education Board has passed the charity test and therefore all Merchant Company Schools continue to be eligible to be registered as charities in Scotland.

This is public endorsement of the benefit that George Watson's College provides for families in Edinburgh and the surrounding area, and the part the School plays in promoting educational standards and helping to develop effective citizens of Scotland and the UK of the future.

Watson's is proud of its long history of providing as much as it can in financial assistance to allow as broad a range of young people as possible to access a Watson's education, whilst at the same time making its facilities available to the general public. This is, indeed, part of the School's DNA and we shall continue in the years to come to work just as hard to promote the George Watson's Family Foundation, which strives to provide the funding to achieve our aspirations.
