Charities Day saw Junior and Senior pupils take part in a joint event that raised money for good causes, gave everyone some exercise and brought the campus to life with colour.
Primary classes were paired with Senior year groups and Nursery pupils were accompanied by the office bearers for next session, allowing pupils of all different ages to mingle.
This was the first time that both Junior and Senior School pupils had joined together in one event to support their chosen charities. Tiphereth, the Senior School's charity, is an Edinburgh-based Camphill community, located not far from Watson's. It has a holistic vision, providing residential, day service and employment opportunities for 60 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Their current focus is raising funds to refurbish the old Torphin Golf Club house in order to provide more supported living accommodation for the adults who require it. More information can be found on their website at http://www.tiphereth.org.uk. You can make a donation in support of the walk here.
The Junior School were walking in support of School Lunches for Kamuli, making a difference for the children at St Theresa’s School in Kamuli, Uganda. The charity has set up an online donation page specifically for this event: http://kamulischoollunches.org.uk/gwc-charity-walk/
