More than 40 pupils enrolled to take part in the Junior Language Challenge. The aim is to introduce children to new languages in a fun way.
This year pupils had to learn French for round one. Then, 16 pupils progressed to round two, learning Japanese over the summer to be able to participate in the semi-final that took place yesterday at Watson’s.
We are delighted to announce that three pupils – Asena Lourenco, Fraser Colliston and Hannah Godsell (all P6) – are through to represent Scotland at the Grand Final in London on 13 October, when they will be tested in Zulu. The Junior Language Challenge is also run for a good cause. All fees collected are donated to onebillion, a charity that works to bring basic education to children in some of the world’s poorest countries.
