Boys' and Girls' Teams Are British Skiing Champions

Published on 19 November 2018

The British Schools Dry Slope Championships took place on Sunday 18 November at Hillend. This is the culmination of the Nation Championships, with the fastest qualifying teams from England, Scotland and Wales competing.

We had three teams competing and our Boys' A Team were defending their title after winning the British Championship last year.

After an exciting day of racing in which all our skiers performed really well, we were delighted with the results:

  • Our Boys' A team won, and are British Boys' Champions (again); Will Dalziel (S6) achieved the fastest boys' time in Britain, with Robbie Anderson (S4) in second place.
  • Our Girls' team also won, and are British Girls' Champions for the first time since 1989; Jemma Clarke (S6) achieved the fastest girls' time in Britain, with Sophie Anderson (S2) in third place.

This is only the second time in the 50 year history of this competition that one school has had both the Boys' and Girls' Champions - a great and notable achievement!
