This month, Watson's new Arkwright scholars Joshua Flint, Amanda Scobie, Alexander Shen and Rory Mainland (all S5) and existing scholar Stephen Addison (S6) met with five scholars sponsored by Watson's from other schools.
It's exciting to see what other people are doing and what they have been able to do with the funding and opportunities Arkwright has given them.
I felt like the other scholars provided a lot of valuable advice and opinions about our futures including information about university applications and advice on careers.
They heard from some of Watson's former pupils who are past Arkwright scholars, discussed future career advice and shared project ideas.
It was interesting talking to the other scholars as they had been through the same process.
I am looking forward to learning about what engineering jobs are like through my sponsor and gaining hands on experiences.
This year only 30 pupils gained an Arkwright scholarship in all of Scotland, so gaining an Arkwright scholarship is a very prestigious achievement for our new scholars this year. Well done to all of them!
