Ark Trust Appeal

Ark Trust Appeal

Published on 1 November 2005

GalleonThe School has supported the Ark Trust for several years now and will be doing so again this year as our Xmas Appeal. We will launch the Xmas Appeal next Tuesday at school assembly. At that assembly the Ark Trust have asked us if we would be able to donate a pair of socks, size 5 upwards, for a hostel they work with in Belarus. The Ark service users go there to help build furniture and repair the building, a former prison of war camp. As you can imagine it has none of the basics that we take for granted. Out of 300 people who live there only 150 of them have shoes. The others have no socks or shoes - hence the need for socks to help keep them warm through the approaching winter.

The Samaritans are delivering to the area next week and have said that they have space for the socks if we can collect them early next week. That is why we need as many socks as possible on Tuesday when we have visitors from the Ark in school to help launch the Xmas Appeal.

We hope to have everyone at assembly on Tuesday waving a pair of socks!

Thank you in advance for your help.
