Available now - the first illustrated history of George Watson's College, one of Scotland's most famous institutions.
The book covers the School's early history as an eighteenth-century Hospital, through radical change in 1870, including the formation of the Ladies' College, to our emergence as one of the largest independent schools in Europe.
Robert Anderson, Professor of Modern History at Edinburgh University and an acknowledged expert on the history of Scottish education, spoke at the book's launch and stated that the book preserved 'living memories', building on a rich history of the early times which had been preserved, despite two campus moves. He also believed that the book 'deserves to be read'.
Copies of the book can be obtained from Senior School Reception priced at £20 each for the paperback, or £35 for the hardback version.
