At the Edinburgh School Swimming Championships at Ainslie Park yesterday, Watson’s came away with 29 medals (9 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze).
Gold Medals were won by Daniel McGregor (S3) – 14/15 100m Backstroke and 200m Individual Medley; Rachael Kneen (P7) – 50m Breaststroke; Kimberley MacKay (S2) – 12/13 200m Freestyle; Katherine Fraser (S2) – 12/13 100m Butterfly; Kirsty Niblock (S4) – 14/15 200m Butterfly; Ailsa Small (S5) – 16/18 100m Breaststroke; Brodie Savage (S1) 12/13 100m Breaststroke and our senior girls’ relay team – Kirsty Pyper, Nicola Glauch (both S6), Moira Watkins and Ailsa Small (both S5).
Silver medals were won by Kimberley MacKay, Kirsty Niblock; Moira Watkins (S5), Kirsty Elliott (S6), Stuart Niblock (S1), Dale Welstead (S5), our girls’ relay teams (11/under – Rachael Kneen, Katie Fyffe, Ellie Wilson, Anna MacKay (all P7), 12/13A – Jodie White, Katherine Fraser, Claire Hilton, Kimberley Mackay (all S2), and 14/15 – Lucy Gray, Iona Paterson (both S3), Kirsty Niblock, Clare Andrew (S5)), and our boys’ relay team, 12/13 – Brodie Savage, Stuart Niblock, James Cruickshank, (all S1) and Kenneth Drummond (S2).
Bronze medals were won by Katherine Fraser, Kirsty Elliott, Jodie White, Brodie Savage, Stuart Niblock, Calum Watkins (S3), James Burton (S5), Fraser Humphries (S6), our girls’ 12/13B relay team – Sarah Lowden (S2), Jennifer Arthur, Lucy McGregor and Caitlin Arnott (all S1) and our boys' 14/15 relay team – Daniel McGregor, Calum Hilton, Paul Davis and Calum Watkins (all S3).
Fantastic results for the swimmers who all swam extremely well and were a credit to the School.
