2003 – A successful year for Watson's

HRH The Princess Royal Reopens the Lower PrimaryChristmas is always a special time in the school year, and this year's celebrations certainly lived up to the best of Watson's tradition. This brings 2003 to a close, giving us an opportunity to look back on another busy and successful year.

2003 began eventfully, with the visit of Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal in her capacity as Master of the Merchant Company. This visit saw the official re-opening of the Lower Primary which was followed later in the year by the official opening of the extended and redeveloped Jack Martin Music School. This occasion was marked by a special concert given by former pupils, Malcolm Martineau and Brian Bannatyne-Scott, and the Baroque Orchestra and College Soloists.

The year was marked by many successes, achieved by our pupils individually and in teams. These are too many to mention but include all kinds of achievements - both academic and extra-curricular, and at many different levels.

Other significant developments in 2003 included the launch of our new website and prospectus and the HMIe inspection, both of which give us an opportunity not just to reflect on our school as we know it but to look forward to new challenges up ahead, in 2004 and beyond.
