Primary 7 pupil, Rob Paterson, got a surprise when he arrived for his school lunch today to a fanfare welcome, as he had become the millionth customer to use his swipe card since George Watson’s College installed swipe facilities in February 2005.
He was presented with free lunches for a week and a cake to take home for his Mum and Dad.
Gareth Edwards, Principal of George Watson's College, said, “I’d like to congratulate Rob for his part in this landmark for catering at Watson’s. Our Catering Department actively encourages a healthy approach to the wellbeing of staff and pupils, incorporating fresh produce, wherever possible. Since the introduction of swipe cards, the operational efficiency has increased, and we believe that this has enabled the team to adopt an even more creative approach to the product provided for our pupils, which has proved to be so popular”.
