The Watson's Homestay programme enables senior pupils to join our International Baccalaureate Programme* or to study for Scottish Qualifications in S5 and S6 even if they live too far from Edinburgh to travel to the School every day.
Our Homestay Partner, Study Links, can arrange high-quality accommodation in family homes within easy reach of the School. Usually, host families will already have a son or daughter studying at George Watson's College. Care is provided in a family setting with the expert backup of Study Links.
Homestay pupils are immediately a full part of our lively community and can take part in all our academic, cultural and sporting activities.
Edinburgh is one of Europe's greatest cities with a history, cultural life and intellectual dynamism unlike any other. Edinburgh hosts four universities and many other academic and cultural institutions with which George Watson's College enjoys close links.
George Watson's College is one of the few IB World Schools in Scotland and regularly ranks among the most successful places to study for the International Baccalaureate Diploma in the UK. Alternatively, our wide range of Highers and Advanced Highers can provide another tried and tested route to academic success.
Preparation for university entry is an important part of the support we provide for all senior pupils, including Homestay pupils and helps many of our pupils progress to some of the most prestigious universities in Scotland, elsewhere in the United Kingdom and further afield.
George Watson’s College is a registered Sponsor for Tier 4 visas and is, therefore, able to issue a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to applicants who fully meet the selection criteria to study at Watson’s and the requirements for a Tier 4 (Child) visa as specified by the Home Office.
The George Watson's College Homestay Programme offers a unique route to study in Scotland
