Art: The History of Halloween: From Samhain to Spooky Season (P6-S2)

This October step into ‘The History of Halloween: From Samhain to Spooky Season'. Step back in time and discover the fascinating history of Halloween through a week of creative art projects! Young artists will explore ancient traditions, mysterious folklore, Victorian ghost stories and modern Halloween celebrations. Participants will create masks, lanterns, spooky characters and intricate layered cardboard haunted houses, before bringing everything together in a wonderfully atmospheric final display. A fun, imaginative week filled with painting, sculpture, construction and plenty of Halloween magic!

Camp Leader Biography

Jessica Christman is a California-born artist and educator with a background in Art History and Studio Art from San Francisco State University. She has taught art internationally and served as Head of Art at a school in Shanghai. Jessica’s work is inspired by the natural world, often incorporating real flowers and organic materials. She is passionate about helping young artists build confidence, explore creativity, and express themselves through hands-on, imaginative projects.
