Tax Effective Giving from the USA

Stars and Striped flag

There are a number of ways you can show your support and donate to the George Watson's Family Foundation. Donations made to the Foundation from the US can be tax effective if made through the British Schools and Universities Foundation. We will send you a formal acknowledgment once we have been informed of your gift.

British Schools and Universities Foundation

To make a gift and take a US income tax deduction, you may make a donation to the British Schools & Universities Foundation (Federal Tax ID 13-616-1189), a charitable organisation approved by the US Internal Revenue Service under code Section 501(c)(3).

Write your cheque to the order of the British Schools & Universities Foundation.

You should express a preference for George Watson’s College in your transmittal letter, not on your cheque. Such preferences are respected by the Foundation but all grants are made at its sole discretion, as required by the IRS.

To make a donation today send your gift to the BSUF by making your donation online. Remember to nominate the George Watson’s Family Foundation as the recipient of your gift.

Matching Gifts

Your employer may have a Matching Gift Programme which could double or triple the value of your gift. Your employer will provide you with a form, which, when completed should be sent to BSUF. For further information please visit BSUF.

We hope you choose to make a gift today. It will make a huge difference, in every way.
