George Watson’s College wishes to appoint a School Nurse to provide the highest standards of nursing care to all pupils and where possible, to attend to staff and visitors to the school who have health care needs. To work collaboratively with other members of the nursing team, GWC staff, pupils and their families to ensure on-going health and wellbeing needs are fully supported and attendance at School is maximised wherever possible/appropriate. Working within the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Professional Conduct and scope of professional practice at all times and to comply with the Scottish Government Guidelines: Supporting Children and Young People with healthcare needs in Schools.
Hours of work will be 21.75 hours per week working Monday, Thursday and Friday for 47 weeks per year (36 weeks of term time plus professional learning days and a further three weeks to be agreed during certain holiday periods). The annual leave entitlement is seven weeks per year making a total of 47 weeks. The salary for this position will be in the Grade 5 range of £36,315 - £38,638 (based 36.25 hours, 52 weeks). This equates to £19,693 - £20,953 per annum.
