The drummers of the Novice A band were crowned World Champions for the twelfth time, winning the Best Drum Corps title in their category at the World Pipe Band Championships, Glasgow Green on 12 August.
Our Juvenile band was defending the World title they won last year but after a very strong performance, had to settle for a close second in a very tight competition. The Juvenile drummers also finished as runners up.
Our Novice A band also featured in the prize list on the day, finishing in 4th place.
As a result of their excellent performances throughout the 2017 season the Novice A and the Juvenile drum corps were both awarded the Champion of Champions drum corps titles in their respective grades. This is the 16th year in succession that the Juvenile drummers at Watson's have won the award, that's every year since 2002. The title is given to the bands and drum corps in each grade with the most consistent results at the five major championships each year.
Well done to all.
