We are delighted to welcome the return of outdoor Summer Sports.
Since the start of term, our pupils have been able to enjoy cricket, athletics, tennis and rowing as part of their curriculum, extracurricular activities and fixtures.
Cricket games have taken place for Primary 6 to Senior 6, and our pupils have been able to test their skills in competitive matches. Athletics and tennis practices have also been up and running, with fixtures taking place for both.
Since the return of sports, our pupils have been very keen to get active, participation is now higher than in previous years. The mental, physical and social benefits of physical activity for everyone has been clear to see.
Mike Leonard, Director of Sport and PE, said: “We are delighted to see lots of pupils participating in a broad range of activities.
“It has been awesome to facilitate inter-school fixtures against local schools to provide meaningful experiences.
“We appreciate how much sport has been missed over the last 12 months for pupils and parents and therefore we are delighted to see pitches all around the campus buzzing with activity again.”
To compensate for rugby, hockey, football and netball matches cancelled during the winter, our Sport and PE Department is planning a few matches for Senior 6 pupils at the end of the Summer Term.
