Head of Senior School, Gordon Boyd said:
"For all of our S4, S5 and S6 pupils, Tuesday 6 August - SQA Results day - has been a date anticipated with a mix of excitement and trepidation. The acquisition of the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding, the revision and preparation over many months including through holiday times … all of this is not to be under-estimated. And for the first time since 2019, all elements of coursework and practical work have been fully assessed.
Crucially, learning from feedback - especially from January prelims - requires strong relationships between pupils and teachers. No wonder that 6 August is so significant. Finally, the results are out!
So we're delighted that all of this effort has been rewarded with an excellent set of results. For almost all of our pupils, results have met expectations and for a large number, expectations from prelims and estimates have been exceeded.
He continued: "Best wishes to all who leave Watson’s this Summer and congratulations to all of our pupils who should take great pride in their achievements that are recognised today. Thank you to everyone - especially teachers and parents - for the patient, steadfast support you have provided."
Success at Watson's is never just about exam results. However, SQA grades are incredibly important to our pupils as they approach the next stage of their lives. This year, such results ensure that the vast majority of our S6s have been accepted into their firm choice of university - a superb achievement for our young people. With that, over the coming weeks, our Curriculum Support and Careers teams in school will be supporting candidates with the Post-Results Service and other UCAS enquiries.
Thank you to all our colleagues and parents for the part you have played in making sure so many pupils can progress with such confidence - both academically and personally.
Congratulations to all our pupils and the very best of luck to our leavers as they embark on their future endeavours.
