IT Ambassadors
- Senior School
For the first time ever Watson’s have appointed a new team of IT Ambassadors who will act as a point of contact for all IT queries across the pupil body.
The Ambassadors will offer help to peers who may be struggling to set up their devices and will work alongside members of the IT support team to ensure they are providing a reliable service that also allows them to develop their skill sets whilst ‘on the job’.
This is the first time the school has had a group of this calibre within the school community and it is likely they will be kept very busy this academic session.
On discussing the IT Ambassadors initiative, Kacper (S6) said:
"Computers are always changing - they are getting smarter, slimmer and more complicated. I feel that it is important to be an IT ambassador and provide help to other pupils with making the best use of their device, especially with these changing technologies around us. Computers are a key part of the future and it is best if we all know how to use one well."
Meanwhile, Jamie (S2) admits he has always enjoyed working with computers and is relishing the opportunity to utilise this interest in his school career. He explained why he wanted to join the IT Ambassadors scheme:
"I'm good with computers, and I want to help other pupils who are having problems with theirs."
Our IT Ambassadors will be on hand every day between over lunchtime in the Study Centre to help pupils solve their IT queries.
At Watson’s, pupils are able to take on similar leadership roles in a number of areas including Sports, Eco, Personal Social Development, House and the Pupil Council. Plans are also underway to recruit Rights Respecting Schools Ambassadors to complete the line up. We are delighted to see pupils get involved in the school community as representatives of departments and causes they feel particularly passionate about.
