GWC pupils present climate emergency simulator at Strathclyde University

pupils present climate emergency simulator at Strathclyde University

On Friday 29 October Georgia, Emma, and Anna (S6) presented to an audience at Strathclyde University in Glasgow.

The pupils have been working with the EN Roads Climate Simulator, created by American technical institute, MIT Sloan. The simulator focuses on actions that can be taken to prevent an increase in global temperature.

Our pupils worked closely with pupils from King’s College School in London, to present the simulator to the audience at C016, Conference of Youth.

Louise McVey, Global and Social Action Coordinator at GWC, said: “This was a brilliant opportunity to collaborate with another school, and for pupils to develop their presentation and team building skills, as well as the audience's understanding of the simulator.

“Our pupils spoke confidently about the climate simulator and expressed their passion and interest in the climate emergency"

“This links in well with our sustainability framework and the focus of the schools eco group, which is to educate the school and community on actions they can take to lower their environmental impact.”
