Drum Corp are Champion of Champions

After missing the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pipes & Drums of George Watson's College again competed at the highest level in the World Pipe Band Championships held at Glasgow Green on 12-13 August, in unusually spectacular warm and sunny conditions.

The Juvenile band secured second place and the Novice Juvenile A band fourth place, in their respective grades.

The Novice Juvenile A drum corps, having previously won the Scottish and UK Championships earlier this year, were awarded the Champion of Champions title for their excellent consistent contribution throughout the 2022 competition season.

The day culminated with a march past of all 145 pipe bands and the prize-giving ceremony.

This was the final performance for 11 of the band members, who are now at the end of their time at George Watson's College as they leave with fond memories and best wishes for their future.
