Medals for the Swim Team

Yesterday the GWC Swim Team was at the Royal Commonwealth Pool for the Brodies Scottish Schools' Relay Championships. With a number of our older swimmers away on DofE or work experience the work load fell on the younger swimmers and they did incredibly well on the day.

Gold Medallists (20)

U12 Girls 4x50m Freestyle and Medley Relay:

Kate Carruthers (2 medals), Sarah McNaughton, Darcy Littlefield (2 medals), Imogen Westwood and Alice Mackie (2 medals), (all P7)

S1/2 Girls 4x50m Freestyle and Medley Relay:

Kiera Rennie, Lucy Trotter, Cara Johnston and Rachel Saunders (2 medals each, all S2)

S3/4 Boys 4x50m Medley Relay :
Joshua Aspinall, Jason English, Daniel Saunders and Finlay Scott (all S3)

Silver Medallists (8)

S1/2 Boys 4x50m Freestyle and Medley Relay
Jack McGill, Jamie Littlefield, Gabriel Quinn (all S2), Jack Brown and Owen Ray (S1)

It was a very competitive day throughout and to come away with 28 medals is an outstanding achievement. With many of our other teams finishing 4th and 5th in events we showed a good consistency throughout the day, culminating in us coming 2nd overall across the whole of Scotland.
