Junior School Sports Day

Junior School Sports Day

Published on 14 June 2021

We were delighted to be able to hold this year’s Junior School Sports Day.

Our pupils in Primaries 1 to 3 took part in a range of activities including sack race, egg and spoon and obstacle courses. They were also particularly excited about a visit from our school mascot, Rex Corde.

Upper Primary pupils enjoyed fun activities as well as competing in the House Relay, 800m,  one lap, 200m, 100m and 80m races.

Louise Mitchinson, PE Teacher and Sports Day Coordinator  said: “We were so lucky to be able to run the Junior School Sports Day this year and what a fabulous day it was!

“It was amazing to see all the pupils participating with such enthusiasm and smiles on their faces.

“Although parents were unable to be there cheering the pupils on, the day had a real buzz from start to finish.

“The athletes involved in the track finals ran with determination and it was great to see so many competitive races. One highlight was seeing Nancy (P7) beat the school record in the 800m with a time of 2.42.53.

“A big well done to all pupils who participated in both fun events and on the track”

The day was also a win for Cockburn Greyfriars house, who came out on top overall.
