The start of Session 2019/20 marks the opening of the new John Martin Junior School Building, our most ambitious capital build in modern history.
This impressive £8.2 million extension provides five new modern teaching and learning spaces, an open plan library overlooking the Pentlands, flexible learning spaces for modern languages, a new music suite, performance spaces and new entrance and reception.
Watson’s was founded on philanthropy and our achievements have only been made possible thanks to the generosity of individuals. John Martin (Class of 1948) left a substantial legacy, which has allowed George Watson’s College to realise our ambitions for developing and improving facilities for our Junior School pupils.
The second phase of work is now underway, which will see a remodelling of the existing Lower Primary building to provide two additional Preschool classrooms.
