GWC launch environmental lecture series

Published on 22 September 2021

We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a series of lectures highlighting the importance of tackling climate change.

The Sustainability Series is a programme of talks by experts in their field that will explore the challenges of the climate crisis, and make the case for taking up our own responsibilities to be agents of change for a better and more sustainable future.

Our expert speakers include:

  • Paul van Heyningen OBE Deputy Director, Net Zero Electricity Networks at Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS)
  • Eva Cairns, Head of Climate Change Strategy, Aberdeen Standard Investments

This series of lectures form part of our Project 810 work, which is our school’s commitment to providing opportunities for our pupils to acquire new skills and understanding so they can confidently build a fairer, sustainable, and kinder world.

The GWC Sustainability Framework will be officially launched during the first of these talks, sharing our plan to reduce our environmental impact as a community and improve the positive contribution that we make to the sustainability of our planet.

The first lecture in The Sustainability Series will take place on Tuesday 5 October at 6pm.
