For the last 10 years, George Watson's College has hosted one of the largest MUN Conferences held in the UK.

MUN (Model United Nations) simulates the real United Nations, as pupils become delegates from countries across the world, debating resolutions and in doing so learn about current world issues from different perspectives.

GWCMUN’s plan was to spend this current academic year building up our own MUN Club. In doing so, we have developed a partnership with EdMUN, the Edinburgh University MUN Society.

From this partnership the inaugural GWC@EdMUN Conference has emerged. Benefitting from the combined expertise and resources of the graduate and undergraduate student team of EdMUN and the group of teachers and pupils behind GWCMUN, a two-day Conference forschool-aged pupils will be held Saturday 17 March and Sunday 18 March 2018.

The Opening Ceremony and committee sessions will be held at the University, utilising some of Edinburgh University’s most historic buildings. The Saturday Night Social, a formal, three-course formal dinner followed by traditional Scottish Ceilidh will be held at Watson’s.

"This new partnership with EdMUN will help to develop our skills and our Conference further." said the Secretary Generals of GWCMUN. "We are really looking forward to welcoming school pupils from across the city, the country and beyond to take part in MUN."
