GWC Pipes & Drums travelled to Fukuoka Japan on its 16th annual trip.

U18 Boys' Scottish Independent Schools' National Team
Congratulations to Michael Brown, Max Bendle (both S6), Ben Reilly (S5) and Charlie Din (S4) on being capped for Scotland in this year's annual challenge match vs. England. The close-run game was played at a sun-soaked Falkirk Stadium with both teams putting in a huge effort, in the hot conditions, over the 90mins.

Watsonian Community Choir Spring Concert
A lovely, sunny spring evening on Saturday 5 May saw the inaugural concert from the newly established Watsonian Community Choir.

P6 and P7 Edinburgh and Scottish Cross Country Report
On Friday 20 April, pupils in Primary 6 and Primary 7 competed in the EPSSA Cross Country Championships (Edinburgh Primary Schools' Sports Association) at Inverleith Park. All children enjoyed it and ran extremely well.

Sporting Excellence
On Friday 27 April, we welcomed Stuart McInally (Class of 2008) back to Watson's to help judge the winner of this year's Excellence in Sport prize. Stuart won the prize in 2008 and since leaving School has gone on to perform at the highest level in his chosen sport. He currently plays for Edinburgh Rugby in the Pro14, and was awarded Man of the Match at their 1872 Cup win at the weekend.

Over £12,000 Raised for Soldiers' Charity
Since 2012, pupils have raised a total of £12,782.12 for Red, White and Blue Day.

Debating Champions
Ben Stanley (S5) and Lachlan White (S4) became the top UK school debaters with an outstanding victory in the English Speaking Union International Mace, one of the oldest and most prestigious debating competitions in the world.
