World Champion Drummers
Our Novice Juvenile A drummers were crowned World Champions at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow on Saturday. They also won Champion of Champions winning four out of five major titles in what has been a hugely successful season.
In addition, the Juvenile band placed 3rd and the Novice A band placed 5th.

Pipes & Drums Take Edinburgh By Storm
In scorching hot sunshine on Sunday, the three School bands continued their strong form by taking top honours at the Edinburgh Pipe Band Championships in Princes Street Gardens.

Summer Production - Our House
This year’s summer production of Our House tells the story of London lad Joe Casey, whose life splits into two when he has to make a decision of a lifetime. Written by Tim Firth, Our House is based in 1980s Camden Town and features Madness hits including House of Fun, Baggy Trousers and of course Our House.

Three UK Championship Titles for Pipes & Drums
The Pipes and Drums enjoyed a very successful weekend at the UK Championships held in the grounds of Stormont Estate, County Down, Northern Ireland, winning three UK Championship titles.

GWC Pipes & Drums travelled to Fukuoka Japan on its 16th annual trip.

Watsonian Community Choir Spring Concert
A lovely, sunny spring evening on Saturday 5 May saw the inaugural concert from the newly established Watsonian Community Choir.

Senior School Production - Our House
The Senior School Production this year is OUR HOUSE. Performances will take place from Tuesday 19 June – Friday 22 June and will begin at 7pm each evening.

Pipe and Drums Success
Following on from their successful trip to Los Angeles, the Pipes and Drums continued their quest by competing at the annual indoor pipe band events throughout the month of March. Our bands performed over three consecutive weekends, beginning with the Scottish Schools' Championships where the First Minister was in attendance to listen to the bands and later present the prizes. The Novice A band gained 1st place and the Juvenile and Novice B bands were 3rd and 2nd in their respective grades. The drum corps of all three bands were placed 1st in each grade.

Pipe Band Trip to Long Beach, Los Angeles
For Edinburgh, a relatively dreary Tuesday morning; for GWC Pipe Band, something quite the opposite. Our American adventure began at Edinburgh airport on Tuesday 13 February. A short flight to Heathrow, followed by a long flight to the United States saw us land in LAX. Before we knew it, our adventure had begun. After a 24-hour journey, beginning at Turnhouse and ending in Long Beach, we enjoyed what can only be described as a glorious night’s sleep on board the Queen Mary, before taking on Disneyland the next day... which was simply magical.

Congratulations to Sarah Bryce (Class of 2017) on winning the Rae MacIntosh Cup for High Achievement 2017 by Trinity Guildhall.

These We Have Loved
This evening the School will host These We Have Loved. This concert will see Watson’s pupils perform musical and choral highlights from through the ages. We are delighted that this will include performances on our new Steinway Grand Piano.
