Robert Dick (P4) was named a regional winner and runner-up in a national competition to design the official logo for Malaria Awareness Week (12 – 18 May 2008).
The competition run by National Geographic Kid’s Magazine was launched in their April issue. Explorer and kid’s TV presenter, Steve Backshall said of Robert’s design, “The competition was tough this year and we’d like to congratulate Robert on his fantastic design and making it this far. He should be very proud of himself for helping to raise awareness of this important issue.”
Robert said of his success, “I was very excited to be named runner-up and can’t wait to spend my book vouchers. I’m also looking forward to showing all my classmates my awesome trophy. The competition was lots of fun and I learned a lot about malaria.”
