About the Houses
The four Houses are: Preston Falconhall, Cockburn Greyfriars, Melville Ogilvie and Lauriston. Prior to 1975, when the Boys' and Girls' Colleges amalgamated, the Boys' Houses were
Cockburn, Preston, Lauriston and Ogilvie and the Girls' Houses were Greyfriars, Falconhall, Lauriston and Melville.
Every session the Houses compete for the Citizenship Trophy which is awarded to the House with the greatest number of points. Children earn points in various ways eg exceptional manners, being helpful etc and these are totalled weekly, with the points displayed around the School and on the website.
Each term the children have a 'Focus' which helps them concentrate on one particular aspect of their behaviour or contribution to School life. Recent examples have been: Back to Basics, Respect and Finish with a Flourish. The Houses also compete at the Swimming Gala, Sports' Day, House rugby, cricket, hockey, netball and cross country.
