At another very entertaining and successful Lothian Young Enterprise Awards evening, on Thursday, Watson’s Young Enterprise teams came away with three trophies and many other placings.
All four companies this year have shown great creativity, commitment, responsibility and the variety of products has been significant, and this was recognised with every team coming away from the finals with at least one top three position. All four produced amazing presentations at the event with two making the top three out of 21 finalists.
Neptune, produced GWC branded boxer shorts for girls and boys and arranged ‘studio’ photographs for families and friendship groups, and won two awards for Best IT and Best Presentation. They also came second in the Best Production / Operations and Best Business Idea categories, and third in the Best Company Secretary/ Administration category.
Pulse won the trophy for Best Production / Operations for their Fashion Show. A hugely successful event, and unusual when it came to Young Enterprise ‘products’ for Watson’s. They also came second in the Best Finance category and were third Best Company overall!
Priority gained two third positions in the in Best Managing Director and Best Presentation categories. They had produced GWC pyjama bottoms, tshirts, badges and had held a Guitar Hero competition at Rock Nite.
Empire – with their tshirts, pashminas and crazy bands – was second in the Best Company Secretary/ Administration category.
It is fair to say that all the 47 S5 pupils involved this year really impressed the teachers and business people that mentored them with their business and interpersonal skills, as well as the Lothian competition judges.
