At the Scottish Schools’ Swimming Relay Championships, which were held at the Tollcross Pool in Glasgow, Watson’s pupils swam in all senior events and performed exceptionally well.
The S1 girls’ team – Kimberly MacKay, Jodie White, Katherine Fraser and Claire Hilton (all S1) – performed outstandingly, winning gold in both the 4x50m freestyle relay and the 4x50m medley relay. The S2 boys’ team – Calum Hilton, Calum Watkins, Rory McLeod and Daniel McGregor (all S2) – also performed particularly well, winning bronze in the 4x50m freestyle relay.
The Junior School was successful in the Under 12 freestyle relays with the boys’ team – Stuart Niblock, James Cruickshank, Charlie Kidd and Brodie Savage (all Primary 7) – swimming fantastically to win silver. The girls’ team – Katie MacCallum, Jennifer Arthur, Lucy McGregor and Caitlin Arnott (all Primary 7) – held on extremely well in an exciting finish, gaining a well-deserved bronze.
