S3 Projects form an important part in the development of our pupils, and have been a part of the life of George Watson’s College since 1962.
In 2012 we celebrated 50 years of Projects at Watson's. More information on this is available using the link below.
This experience – in which our S3 pupils spend 12 days away from the classroom, their families and the technology they rely on every day – provides them with an insight into themselves, their values, their priorities, their friendships and their relationships with their teachers.
Very many pupils highlight S3 Projects as a ‘life-changing’ event and one of the memories of their life at Watson’s that will stay with them for a very long time.
Most of the projects are based on walking, but there is also a cycling project. There is no such thing as an ‘easy’ Project; it is our intention that pupils will find themselves stretched physically, wherever they are.
