Galleon Camps
Cricket Camp
Open to pupils in Primary 4 to S3, this camp in the Easter holidays provides an opportunity for pupils to develop their cricketing skills in a fun and enjoyable environment, enabling them to enhance their skill levels prior to the new cricket season.
Galleon Easter Camp
Will not be running in 2013. Primary 1 – Primary 7 pupils requiring holiday care can be accommodated by the Holiday Club.
Galleon Summer Camp
The Galleon is very pleased to announce a new structure for Summer Camps, during two weeks of the Summer holidays, running from 8.15am–4.00pm, and open to pupils from current P3 to S3. Our aim is to develop a range of skills within different sports. All of the activities will have qualified coaches and will follow a set programme, fitness-skills and games. A list of activities is available on the application form.
PLEASE NOTE: We are now able to offer individual days as well as full week camps. This means that parents can choose a mix of Holiday Club days and Galleon Camp Days, using the Holiday Club form and the Galleon Camp form as appropriate and returning the forms to the Holiday Club and Galleon as appropriate.
Hockey
The Galleon runs Hockey Camps in both the Easter and the Summer holidays. The Easter camp takes the form of half day courses for pupils from Primary 3 – S3; the Summer camps are divided into Junior (for pupils in Primary 3 to Primary 7) and Senior, for pupils in Senior School. All courses provide a great opportunity for pupils to brush up on skills and fitness for the start of the new season. The emphasis is on developing hockey skills and techniques in a fun environment. They are based at the Senior School, using both astroturf pitches and the front grass pitch.
Rugby
During the summer holidays the Galleon runs pre-season ‘Rugby Skills Courses’, for those children starting Primary 4 to S6. This is an opportunity to brush up on skills and fitness for the start of the new season. Based at the Craiglockhart pitches, the emphasis is on developing rugby skills and techniques in a fun environment. Activities include skill drills and practices, modified games according to age, level and ability and fun games culminating in the unique ‘Rugby Olympics’ on the final day.
