Keith Anderson (Class of 1975)
Keith attended George Watson's College from Primary 1 and he has the distinction of being the last School Captain of the separate boys' college and the first Head Boy following the merger of the boys' and girls' colleges in November 1974. This transition took place during one session and so it was not the case that he repeated the year!
Keith is a solicitor, having qualified LLB (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh in 1979, and has spent the greater part of his career as a corporate lawyer, latterly as a partner in Dickson Minto WS a leading UK corporate practice based in Edinburgh and London. Earlier this year, after nearly 30 years in private practice, he embarked upon a change of direction and is now acting as an independent adviser to corporate and financial clients, providing legal and business advice, specifically tailored to the requirements of those clients.
At school he was interested in rugby and played for the 1st XV in season 1974/75, and he captained the school golf team also. After leaving school Keith played rugby for Watsonian FC of which he is now a non playing member.
Keith's other interests include football, music, gardening and hill walking. He has served on the Development Board of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for the last two years, and is an elder of Gullane Parish Church. A member of Gullane Golf Club, he lives in the village with his wife Janet (née Trainer) (Class of 1975) and has one child Alasdair (Class of 2002). |
