PE Redevelopment
Phase one - Murray Family Pavilion
The opening of The Murray Family Pavilion marks the completion of Phase One of the George Watson's College three phased development of the PE and Sports facilities.
The official opening took place on Thursday 26 January and we are delighted that Norman Murray, our Chairman of Governors, accepted the Principal's invitation for the new Pavilion to carry his family name in recognition of his leadership and generosity.
The new pavilion will provide an excellent changing environment for our pupils and includes six changing rooms, changing areas for referees, a first aid room and groundstaff facilities.
Phase two - the new Sports Hall
We are delighted that work on the new Sports Hall was completed in January 2008. This tremendous new facility was officially opened on Thursday 6 March 2008 by George Watson's Family Foundation Patron Gavin Hastings OBE.
If anyone would like to become involved in fundraising for the remaining phase of PE, please contact Lesley McKean or Roy Mack in the Development Office on 0131 446 6008 or e-mail development@gwc.org.uk.
George Square
The School is delighted that in May 2005, the East Quad at Watson's was formally renamed George Square. An outdoor amphitheatre was also created for curricular and social use.
The Jack Martin Music
