Good Day at Scottish Schools’ Athletics Championships

Watson’s had a very successful outing at the Scottish Schools’ Athletics Championships at the weekend, coming away with six gold, four silver and six bronze medals.

Allan Hamilton (S6) had an amazing competition, winning three golds; breaking the GWC long jump record (7.11m), our triple jump record (14.42m) and running the 100m in under 11sec (10.96s) in the process.

The medal winners were:

U14 Shot Putt – Ben Robbins (S2)
U14 Boys’ Discus – Laurence Bialy (S1)
U19 100m – Allan Hamilton
U19 Long Jump – Allan Hamilton
U19 Triple Jump – Allan Hamilton
U19 Girls’ 400m Hurdles – Fiona Trew (S6)

Silver
U14 Boys’ 200m – Ben Robbins
U14 Boys’ Shot Putt – Hamish Campbell (S3)
U15 Boys’ Relay – Chris Kelly, Seumas Thomson, Chris MacBeth, and James Innes (all S3)
U15 Girls’ Long Jump – Kirsty McKean (S2)
