Nursery Plus

Nursery Plus is an extension of pre-school nursery which provides after nursery care. The service is designed to meet the needs of parents by providing extended hours for children in an attractive facility on the George Watson’s College campus, close to the Nursery.

The purpose-designed facility provides a more informal setting in which the children can relax and play after their busy morning or day in the Nursery Unit. A variety of play activities are available for the children including craft, games, construction toys, stories, music, singing and outdoor play.

Nursery Plus is designed to ensure that education and care work together. The staff begin their working day in the Nursery Unit as part of our Nursery team ensuring a smooth transition for the children. Nursery policies, procedures and aims are shared with Nursery Plus to ensure continuity for the children.

The facility has Care Commission registration for 24 children. Based upon demand, the facility will have spaces for either 16 or 24 children in session 2006/07, with a staffing ratio of 1:8.

Nursery Plus provides care for children attending our Morning Nursery from the end of the nursery morning until 1.45pm. After nursery care for Day Nursery children is available until 5.30pm.
