Exercise 5a The Future Tense
N.B. You should also know the following structures which
can indicate future action:
- andare a + infinitive = to be going to .....
- stare per + infinitive = to be about to .......
Translate into English:
- At what time will you arrive?
- I shall write to you.
- I am going to work during the holidays.
- What will you do next year?
- I shall read your letter later because I don't have time now.
- The plane is about to leave; in will arrive in Naples in two hours.
- I hope that you will enjoy Scottish cooking.
- I shall work in Italy when I know* Italian. (*future tense in Italian)
- I'll come to visit you if I have* the time. (*future tense in Italian)
- What shall I say to him if he asks*? (*future tense in Italian)
