EXPLORING TOGETHER

For many of our pupils, life at Watson's begins in the Nursery School, which is located within the Lower Primary alongside Primary 1, 2 and 3. This is a secure, intimate but stimulating environment for these crucial early years, which are among the most exciting and formative in a pupil's development. From the very outset, our goal is to provide children with a foundation for lifelong learning.

We begin in the Nursery where children from three to four are engaged in a new world of discovery. While the emphasis is on learning through play, each activity is carefully planned to address aspects of development, including language and communication, and knowledge and understanding. From fixed outdoor play equipment to listening centres and computers, our resources are designed to stimulate the senses. All children are encouraged to develop questioning, thinking minds, concentration and self-motivation.

The confidence which children gain from this environment is developed further by outings within the campus, beyond the familiar Nursery surroundings.

The Nursery gears many of its pre-school activities towards the future move to Primary 1. Literacy and numeracy are introduced in preparation for the more formal Language and Mathematics work in the Lower Primary.
