AN ACTIVE PARTNERSHIP
Learning is a journey
for all ages and open communication between colleagues is
promoted as a means of sharing the best in teaching ideas.
Beyond the classroom, the informal curriculum also provides
an opportunity to draw on the combined experience and expertise
of our staff. Teachers and support staff alike, the Watson's
team is an active partnership.
This principle of
partnership lies at the very heart of our community. Our relationship
with parents has a special significance given our shared commitment
to the development of young people. Parents are encouraged
to play a key role, from discussing academic and pastoral
issues with teachers and the Guidance team, to supporting
extra-curricular activities.Parent groups provide valuable
representation through liaison committees and our thriving
Parents' Association organises a number of popular social
events throughout the year.
We place great importance
on involving the whole family in school life. Our Galleon
Club promotes health and fitness, opening our swimming pool
and other sports facilities to all family members outside
school hours.
We consider it enriching
that our partnership with parents and the rest of the Watson's
community goes beyond the formal aspects of school, and extends
into social, sporting and other extra-curricular activities.
Indeed it is this shared involvement in school life beyond
the classroom that characterises what we have come to know
as the Watson's family.
